Originally from Hawaii, Richard graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a B.A. in Music. A
professional musician since the age of 18, Richard is a pianist and keyboardist, composer, arranger, musical
director, and is also involved in music production—in the studio working with performers on every phase of
recording an album, to developing all aspects of a stage show from initial concept to the debut performance.
Richard has worked with shows like the Las Vegas-based Legends in Concert, and TV's Soul Train Dancers, as well as
some of Hawaii's biggest headliners. Richard's RPM Productions created and developed nine shows to date, all of
which were performed in a variety of venues: from small room settings to big stage productions.
Richard is also a composer and arranger—as a composer his music has been heard on national TV and radio, HBO
and PBS, as well as Muzak and Dish Network, and his inventive and creative arrangements have spiced up several
band and artist repertoires, as well as stage show lineups around the U.S.
An experienced vocal accompanist, Richard works with several singers on a regular basis—in formats ranging from
duos to quintets—around the Phoenix-area. He also performs with his two groups, Trio 380 and PIZZAZZ, for many
private and public events. Both groups have gained a reputation for delivering top quality music, and for their
remarkably eclectic repertoires. Trio 380 is best known by its nickname, “The Nordstrom Band”, and the trio has
delighted audiences around the Valley of the Sun for over a decade, while PIZZAZZ is gaining a reputation for its
vocals and solid musical backing, entertaining audiences with memorable listening or dancing music.
